The story of Mobius...

The story begins way back before our current adventures, with the start of the Great War. The war began with a simple mistake and arguably should have never been fought. The incident in question was the accidental shooting of Emerson, the kings son, by an Overlander named Paladin. As the Overlander ran from the scene King Theodore Acorn happened upon the body of his dead son. Instead of calling for vengeance he forbade any contact with the Overlanders and banned any use of firearms. These are actions that would have disastrous consequences.

With the death of Emerson and the no gun policy tension was high between the Mobians and Overlanders with conflicts remaining through the centuries. This, however, changed with the rule of King Frederick. That was when an Overlander scientist, Nate Morgan, who had been exiled from his people was accepted into Mobian society. Needless to say this caused problems among some of the hierarchy. Eventually, this erupted in a situation that involved the death of Mobian troops with only Nate and the commander surviving. Feeling he had caused enough trouble he left in self exile, never to return.

With continual growing tensions between the two people war was inevitable, and eventually erupted. The cause of this was a plot by the current warlord after two scouts from both sides met. Instead of walking away the two scouts were executed and returned to their people with letters of warning. Each side was convinced that the other had committed an act of war, and thus the Great War had begun.

Because of the no gun policy that had been in place since king Fredrick the Mobians were quickly on the defensive and eventually the Overlanders were within shelling range of the city Mobotropolis. Worrying about his family King Maximilian ordered his son and wife sent away and their fate became unknown. With a desperate need to get an advantage over the Overlanders the King soon turned to the help of Julian Kintobor who was an Overlander that had been rescued by the Hedgehog brothers Charles and Jules.

Julian convinced the Mobians that the only way to find peace was through war and provided the information to do just that. With the intelligence from the good doctor Mobian troops infiltrated the Overlander lines and eventually gained the upper hand. It was during one of these missions that Jules was mortally wounded. Unwilling to just let his brother die Charles used his newly developed technology to roboticize him. With the upper hand the Mobians eventually pussed the Overlanders away from the city. Eventually, the war came to an abrupt end when Julian arranged a duel between the King of the Mobian and the Commander of the Overlanders. In the end the Overlanders lost an fled in shame from the planet leaving the victors to celebrate.

With the end of the war the celebrating was renowned and Julian became warlord to the King. Despite the end of the war things were not all well, Jules, who had been robotic zed due to his injuries had lost his freewill and remained motionless, while his brother lost in shame destroyed his machine. Seeing opportunity Julian stole the plans and continued the study, as it would eventually become his tool for domination. After that he began his plans to dismantle the war ministry, but had more sinuous plans. After bulding an army in secret Julian gave the orders to his nephew Snively who began a coup. Once started the King was dragged before Julian, now renamed Ivo Robotnik, and the plans were finally revealed. After a diminstartion of the roboticizer the king was done away with and the conquering of Mobius had begun!

With the removal of the Royal Family from power Robotniks’ influence spread across Mobius placing sub-bosses everywhere. It was in places like Dragon Kingdom where his power spread. He gave power to one side that conquered another and it was always the villains that were on top. Despite his early victories it was not easy for the doctor as resistance sprang up everywhere. One of the more notable was the original Freedom Fighters, that caused chaos and lured his robotic armies into the forests to their ultimate defeat. Over time they became more and more of a threat and it wasn’t until a traitor turned the Freedom Fighters over to Robotni. The group was roboticzed and shared the same fate as the king never to be seen again.

Without the resistance of the Original Freedom Fighters Robotnik expanded his empire leading few to escape his regime. Among those few was a group of children that were inspired by the Original Freedom fighters. This young band was led by the young Princess Sally and the blue hedgehog that Robotnik would learn to hate, Sonic.

Robotnik would try many times to defeat Sonic but failed every time. He used his robotic-plant Krudzu to spread and destroy the Great Forest, creating the "Versatile Evolvanoid" E.V.E. to destroy Sonic, using the Weather Annihilator to flush out resistance, using Sonic when he had amnesia to betray the Freedom Fighters, using robot armies to destroy the forest and sending supplies to other villains such as himself. Needless to say, none of them work.

However, there are times where Robotnik has come close to defeating his nemesis. Enlisting the help of a mercenary Sonic was captured and robotic zed. He was done destroying half of Knothole when Metal-Knuckles attacked him. The plan backfired with both robians collided with Robotropolis turning it into a nuclear wasteland. Leaving the rebuilding to Snively the doctor went on with his next scheme, the Death Egg, a satilite capable of roboticezing the entire planet, but once again was thwarted by Sonic and Tails.

Getting furious with setback after setback Robotnik turned to his ultimate scheme, Operation Endgame. The plan was to frame Sonic for the death of Sally using the help of the traitor wolf Draco. After the princes and the hero were finished he infiltrated Knothole with a robot of King Acorn. With the location known he planned to destroy the city with the Ultimate Annihilator, a weapon capable of warping time and space as well as destroying matter. His plan was all set but quickly began to unfold. After Draco was revealed as a traitor Sonic was cleared of the charges and went to face his foe. None the less the doctor managed to fire the weapon but unknown to him Snively hacked the system to it only targeted his DNA destroying Doctor Ivo Robotnik forever!

With the end of Robotnik the Mobians were in great celebration. Peace had finally come for them and their allies but it wouldn’t last. In another dimension another form of Robotnik had wiped out the planet of Mobius and was looking to conquer more. With the unbalance of Mobius Prime he took his chance and became their Robotnik, Dr. Eggman was born! With this new threat it was again to war with the forces of evil, but this time with a twist. This Robo-Robotnik had developed the ability to roboticize just by touch…a lesson Snively learned all too well.

It was about this time the Overlanders that had fled Mobius many years ago returned to the planet they once called home. Unknown to them the outcast they had thrown away many years ago was now transformed, and they were walking into a threatening environment. After they learned that Eggman was allowing them to break in toxic fumes the surviving families left to live with the colonies of humans that still existed on Mobius.

It was about that time an alien race called Bem Abducted Sonic, Tails, Snively, and Robotnik to see which was truly better, organic life form or machine. Both villains and heroes switched leaving Robotnik and Snively powerless, the winner was returned to their original form. In the end Sonic and Tails won but only found out that because of their victory all of Mobius was to be roboticized. It wasn’t until a rogue scientist Ceneca-9009 de-roboticized the entire planet returning their free will. Once again Mobius had returned to it’s original form and war was again erupting.

That was until an alien race called the Xorda discovered a group of Overlanders in space and returned to the planet that was once known as Earth to finish their job. Years before this race decided that humans no longer deserved to exist and fired weapons supposedly wiping them from the planet. Now, they find not only human like beings but the Mobian race. Together the world decided that these aliens were a bigger threat and allied against them in one massive attack. In the end the world was saved but Sonic disappeared in what looked like a suicide attack. Even though the hero of Mobius is gone there is still hope that he will return…and that is where the story begins.
